Following a first acclaimed presentation at Galerie Prima, Polish artist Helena Minginowicz returns with Out of Order, a new solo exhibition bringing together a new body of paintings on canvas and, for the first time in Paris and France, her delicate works on paper towels. The exhibition turns its attention to what our representations usually leave out of sight: ordinary gestures, intimacy, vulnerability, the body, and the traces we might sometimes prefer to see disappear. Deliberately ambiguous, fragmented or elusive scenes emerge through the airbrush, while the shift from canvas to supports as fragile and familiar as paper towels challenges the way we look at what deserves to be shown, preserved or, on the contrary, allowed to disappear.

Through this tension between permanence and disappearance, Minginowicz more broadly questions the ways in which we assign value to images and objects. Her practice brings the history and codes of painting into dialogue with contemporary image culture and materials drawn from everyday life. Fragility is not merely a subject in her work: it becomes a condition of the work itself, suspended between appearance and erasure, preservation and disappearance.
