Overview

Prima Gallery launches the first edition of the 6-24 Prize, featuring artists Chloé Vanderstraeten and Hélène Bellenger.

It all began with an acquisition. By becoming collectors through Prima Gallery, the directors of 6-24 Holding gained first-hand insight into the workings of a young independent gallery: its methods, its convictions, and the relationships it builds with artists. From this exchange emerged a shared belief: supporting emerging artistic practices requires a tangible commitment alongside those who sustain them on a daily basis.

The 6-24 / Prima Prize is the result of this encounter. It is founded on a collaborative model that combines the gallery's expertise with the sponsors' commitment. Prima and 6-24 Holding's curator, Anne-Laure Jacques, propose a selection of emerging artists. The sponsors choose two of them and commit to acquiring one artwork from each artist. Employees of the company and guests attending the opening reception are invited to take part in the process by voting to determine the prize winner.

The selected artist will be awarded a solo exhibition at Prima the following year.

HÉLÈNE BELLENGER

B. 1989, lives and works in Marseille. A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles, Hélène Bellenger develops a multidisciplinary practice spanning photography, installation, performance, and olfactory art. Through a sculptural approach to the image, she examines the mechanisms through which contemporary representations are produced and circulated. Her work has been presented at MUCEM in Marseille, Hangar Photo Art Center in Brussels, and the Centre Photographique d'Île-de-France. She is the recipient of the Dior Photography and Visual Arts Award for Young Talents and the Eurazeo Young Photography Prize.

CHLOÉ VANDERSTRAETEN

B. 1996, lives and works in Paris. A graduate of both the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris, where she received the jury's highest honours, and the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris, Chloé Vanderstraeten develops a practice centred on drawing, paper, and sculpture. Drawing on scientific and architectural iconographies, she creates sensitive bodily structures unfolding in space, at the intersection of body and architecture. Her work has been exhibited at FRAC Picardie, CRAC Alsace, the Fondation Vincent van Gogh in Arles, and the Boghossian Foundation in Brussels. She was awarded the Anni and Josef Albers Foundation Residency in the United States (2023) and the ADIAF Émergence Grant (2025).
