Overview

Born in 1990 in Paris, France, Héloïse Rival lives and works in Paris. A graduate of La Cambre School of Visual Arts in Brussels (2017, printmaking department), she has been dedicated to ceramic wall works since 2018. Her pieces stand at the intersection of the utilitarian and the poetic, combining narrative and ornament with a distinctive sense of humor and fantasy.

Through her use of enamel and relief, Rival reinterprets the traditional language of ceramic decoration as a contemporary form of painting. Her works are composed of fragmented figures and lush motifs, echoing mythological, domestic, and dreamlike imagery.

She has presented solo exhibitions at Galerie Prima (Paris, 2025), Galerie Myriam Chair (Paris, 2024), and Espace GretaMarta (Brussels, 2022). Her work has also been included in numerous group shows across Europe, including Amelie Maison d’Art (Paris), Ballon Rouge Collective (Brussels), and the Brussels Gallery Weekend.

Until March 2025, her work is featured at the Villa Empain (Boghossian Foundation, Brussels) in the group exhibition FIRE, alongside major figures of contemporary art.
